Our engineering team has specialized in designing high-output LED lighting systems since 2009. Using that expertise, we engineered the VioShield™ Foldable Light Table to deliver uniform therapeutic light over a much larger area than conventional handheld devices.
405 nm light sits in the visible spectrum, just beyond deep blue. It’s sometimes called “non-UV antimicrobial light” because it kills microbes without the harmful effects of UV radiation. It’s effective against a wide range of pathogens—including antibiotic-resistant strains—without harming mammalian cells. While it’s less germicidal than UV, its safety allows continuous use in occupied environments, such as hospitals, food storage, and indoor grow facilities.
We believe that there is a synergistic interaction between 405 nm illumination and topically applied essential oils. When antioxidant-rich botanical oils and moisturizers are applied to the skin and subsequently exposed to 405 nm light, the light-induced ROS act as biochemical triggers that enhance the intrinsic antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities of the oils. Research into visible-light and botanical interactions is ongoing, and individual responses may vary.
